Sometimes noise reduction and sharpening counter act one another. Using a series of captures from last night I tried and experiment. My work flow:

1. open 10 raw files in ACR, select all

2. make minor tonal adjustments, increase clarity

3. open all 10 in PSE, run Elements+ noise reduction script

4. save results as tiff

5. open resulting tiff in Topaz Denoise AI, use low light, save file

6. open both files in On1 and slightly crop

7. use the side by side compare function at 110%

8. screen capture results > Topaz on left, noise stack on right

If anyone wants to compare results I'll provide all 10 raw files

The sharpening Topaz applied was default setting, There was no sharpening applied to the noise stack capture. Your observation was the same as mine almost no difference. Reducing noise by using noise stacking has the effect of sharpening also. In this case Topaz wasn't necessary.
