As the crow flies - a early evening flight along the lake. Not easy to get clear shots up there, moving faster than you think! i.ibb.co/x3pfbdv/bridge.jpg

Because this week's judge is busy preparing to leave her home due to the impending hurricane, I am going to make the selections for IOW. Thank you to the members who submitted images this round. While there weren't a large number of images to choose from, narrowing it down to select just three, was still not easy. Here are my choices: Recently on the PE Editor board we were discussing the value "less than perfect" shot. I was immediately drawn to preeb 's shot of this close-up of the elk eyeing the photographer. Wonderful detail and in a perfect scenario those weeds wouldn't be crossing over him. (I probably would have tried to get rid of some of them). BUT.....I am not a wildlife photographer and my edits would have changed the "story". Animals photographed in the wild don't often pose for the photographer. In my humble opinion this is just an excellent capture. I am usually not drawn to "critter" images. However, could you ask for a more perfect shot of a grasshopper? fotofrank has managed excellent focus and lighting that makes this a real standout image.
As many of you know I have a particular fondness for B/W photography. I love the mood of this foggy morning path of trees. It is my selection for IOW.... but I sure would like to see it flipped horizontally so the path leads our eye from left to right. A beautiful capture, blackmutt .
Just had to try it.....
