I rarely shoot a video but have one taken of a dog who we know won't be around much longer because of his age. There are parts of the video I'd like to keep and share with his owner but need to cut out the beginning and the end which are superfluous. Is there a way I can do this in the PE Editor - I'd have no on going need to buy Premiere Elements?

Thanks for the recommendations Peter & Sepiana. Will have a 'play' - I'd hoped that there was a free option somewhere, just didn't know where to look.

ChrisAnn there is also a free basic video editing programme called Avidemux. The advantage is that it can keep the original video quality. Its fairly easy to use. File/Open Video. Play the video or fast move the cursor to the point you want and stop the video. Then click the video start point button. Similarly, find the end point and click the video end point button. Select video output "Copy" and Output format MP4 or whatever the original file was. Then File Save. DOWNLOADAvidemux 64-bit Windows Installer if you have 64 bit Windows. www.fosshub.com/Avidemux.html?dwl=Avidemux_2.7.6VC++64bits.exeKind regards Chris

Thanks Chris - I'll have a look. If editing is as easy as claimed I can see I'll be videoing more frequently. I'm so cack-handed that I always end up with a shot of my finger or the ground at the end of a session.
