Can someone please tell me how to download a picture from someone's facebook to LR so LR will see it and editing will be possible?

Berie, if you right click on a photo you have the option to save it to your desktop. You would then have to import it to LR by whatever method you use to open an image.
Another option would be to ask them to send you the image if they would like you to edit.

Thanks Helen. With a little tweaking and experimenting I got it to work. What would I do without you!
