Fun story. (Two fun critter stories today!) At 6:40 PM today, I was in the kitchen and my wife in the dining room. She was startled by this great horned owl sitting in a deck railing literally 12 feet away!! The owl also startled and flew into our neighbours' maple tree. We'd been feeding blue jays and perhaps the owl was hoping to get one. While it was in the maple tree one of the mad jays dive bombed the owl and the owl left. Nice to see wild birds like this right in the yard.
