Our retirement community (about 1200 homes) hosts an annual resident only photo contest. In the past image entries were physical that were all displayed in the community club house. All residents were encouraged to vote for their favorites with physical ballots one vote per household; in addition we enlisted a professional photographer to adjudicate. For obvious reasons we're exploring options such as online. I'd like to hear from anyone that has experience conducting an online only community photo contest. I'm pretty sure collecting and displaying won't be too problematic because we have a community website with a section that's available via login to residents only. My concern is the popular voting by residents.

There was a town-wide photo contest run over the summer here. Images were submitted virtually but rather than popular voting three of us from the local camera club did the judging along with one of the organizing group. We met, socially distanced, and discussed our individual choices and picked the winners. Turned out quite easy to reach consensus and I haven’t heard of any complaints about the outcome.
