Such as this is why I very much prefer my good old no-nonsense Elements 7.....
I had a rare reason to open Elements 12 and got hemmed into a box canyon and never did really get out.
I had my image displaying in full window view (or whatever you call it when a single image fills the entire working area)
I did Window > Images > Tile and thus had my two opened images side-by-side.
I grabbed the layer thumbnail of one image and dragged it onto the other.
I went to go back into single image view = a very simple no-nonsense task in Elements 7 --- and I could not find a means to do so.
I probably spent half-an-hour investigating possibilities, trying this and that; nothing I did provided what I was looking for.
I finally gave up, saved and closed both images, and put Elements 12 back in the closet.
Can anyone please tell me where the button is to change the image view from all showing on the screen as tiles to a single image displaying and filling the work area ?
Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.

Hi BuckSkin, Click on the Layout button at the bottom of the screen and select Default. Thanks; I will try that next time; it is about the only button I did not mess with.

BuckSkin, you are most welcome! Post back if you have any questions about that Layout button.

Also, a good shortcut to remember is to use the "Tab" key when you need a larger window view*. Press the "Tab" key a second time and it will revert back to the normal view.
Kind regards Chris
*Its easy to use the scroll wheel to enlarge the image. Edit/Preferences/General/Check "Zoom with scroll wheel"

On my machine, I would have to assign the "Tab" function to another unused key, as I have the "Tab" key on my machine remapped to be an extra F2 (Rename) key. (I remapped the "Caps Lock" key to be another "Shift" key and it changed my whole life for the better.)
