I have put up with this extreme annoyance for years and finally got to taking a closer look and I do not think my Elements 7 Palette Bin border is behaving as intended.
When I mouse over the line that separates the working window from the Palette Bin, a little notification/tool-tip will show up = "Adjust Palette Bin Size"
Also, the little two-sided arrow-head thingie will appear that in most situations will allow one to slide such borders one way or the other in a controllable manner.
Not so with my Elements 7 Palette Bin separator bar; if I inadvertently click on the thing --- anywhere along it's length, my Palette Bin immediately disappears to the right.
When this happens, I must carefully find the right spot on the extreme right and click to bring it back.
This behavior is extremely annoying, especially since the little eyeballs beside image layers are right against the Palette Bin separator bar.
I cannot count how many times in a single editing session that I will be concentrating on whatever change a particular layer is making to my image, click the layer ON, click it OFF, click it back ON, and the mouse cursor will ease over that bar and my Palette Bin will disappear.
I have investigated and there is a tiny pointer/arrow-head midway the length of the bar that should be the only point on the bar to cause this behavior; the problem is that no matter where on the bar that I may click, it behaves as if I had intentionally clicked that tiny arrow.
The way it is, if I want to slide that bar to make the bin wider or narrower, the instant I click to "grab" the bar, it immediately jumps all the way to the right.
Is there some setting in preferences that I can change to correct this behavior (probably not) ?
Does anyone have any idea what I could change or delete in the registry to completely disable the ability of the bin to disappear ?
Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.
