gfmucci, I have Intel processors on my two computers; I'm not familiar with AMD processors. Hopefully someone with better qualifications will come to the rescue. However, I will get the ball running. What does "SSE4 support" mean? SSE4 (Streaming SIMD Extensions 4)Your processor is listed in . . . Processor Specifications -- AMDIf you don't find an answer re SSE4 support, I would recommend you contact AMD Customer Support.

That's a lot of nice data about the AMD processor, but still there is nothing about the equivalency with the Intel processor required to optimally run the Elements 2021 program.
And just running the trial on my computer, which I am doing now, does nothing to tell me if the program is running as speedily as it should as if I were aware that my system is optimum for the programs best performance.

Will Elements 2021 work optimally in my Windows 10 computer:
My system is AMD A10-7700K Radeo R7, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G 3.40 GHz.
I have no idea how that compares with 6th generation Intel.
What would I need to upgrade to optimize performance? RAM? Install an SD Drive? Processor upgrade?
Thanks. Remember that what Adobe publishes are minimum specifications, which doesn't mean you will be happy with performance. That AMD chip looks to be about 6 years old now [Intel is on their 10th generation chips, so the 6th gen chips are not current either]. Whether you will be satisfied with performance depends on what you do. Larger images, filters, effects - these can all be more taxing on your system than just doing some simple levels adjustments or color corrections (for example). Given the age of your chip, I'm not sure if I would upgrade your computer. You might be better off with a new one. If you decide to upgrade your existing system, I would look at RAM first (How much do you have now?) and then a Solid-State Disk. AMD chips had a history of lagging behind Intel, but that is no longer the case. The new AMD chips are very good if not better (I switched to AMD for my newest computer).

I have 12 GB RAM, 10.9 usable.
How has the progression of power hungrinees evolved over the years?
I"m wondering if I should stick with my version 9. Or has the power requirement leap occurred much later?
Which is the last version that accepts the latest Camera RAW?

12Gb is reasonable if you aren't doing anything too intensive. Version 9 will support up to Camera RAW 6.5 (https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html). Adobe is on v13, I believe. Generally, newer versions of software are more demanding of your computer than prior versions. However, I don't know how to quantify that with PSE and the various versions. As you are running the trial version you have to assess for yourself how it works. Performance, at a very basic level, can be broken into two categories: Objective - Will the software do what it is supposed to? Or does it not run, or does it give error messages when you try certain tasks; Are you able to run all the programs you want to at the same time? Subjective - Does its performance align with your patience? You can almost always get better performance, but does it really matter to you and how much are you able/willing to spend?

I allocated 80% of RAM to E21. Internet search has slowed down a lot.
But if I don't multitask, E21 would probable do ok. It does run ok but I haven't done any heavy editing yet.
I read elsewhere that a minimum of 16 GB is recommended. I'm not sure how much my motherboard can accommodate. I need to check on that.
One quirk I noted on E21 is when I first open the Organizer the File Edit Find View Help commands at the top left of the screen don't respond until I move the Organizer page down a tad. Most times I need to click on the screen size rectangle at the top right of the Organizer window and then move the window down. It double flashes the screen when I first move it down, but then those top commands work again. It is glitchy, but I doubt that particular glitch is related to RAM issues.

Besides allocating more RAM to PSE 2021, you could also look into other variables which may impact this program’s performance. When Elements Goes into a Sluggish ModeYou may also want to look into Auto Creations (a feature introduced back in PSE 2019). There have been reports of this feature slowing computers down to a crawl. If you don’t have any use for it, you can disable it (Organizer > Edit > Preferences > Media Analysis > . . . turn off Generate Auto Creations). View and share auto-created collages, slideshows, and more

Thanks, Sepiana. Your tips and helps have been much appreciated. I still have the Organizer quirk when I first open it from Home where I have to reduce the size before the top menus respond. Any thoughts on that?
In fact, just now when I opened the organizer to deselect the Auto-Create gizmo, not only were the top pull downs frozen, but the arrow cursor was invisible. When I moved the mouse around I could see which icons it was touching, but the arrow was an invisible ghost. Everything else in the program seems to be working fine.
