These were photographed on Oct 17 and 18 from our sitting room. The birds linger mainly in a close Russian olive tree and a sunflower seed feeder (with a branch perch) is right outside the bay window. Light has been poor (to say the least) and it's been snowing a bit. (Temps in past 24 hours were 20 Celsius degrees below average!! That's 36F° below the Oct 18 average! Not happy.) These are: - Northern flicker (Colaptes auratus), a woodpecker.
- House finch (Haemorhous mexicanus), and
- Blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata)

With a sitting room window giving you views like this you don't need a television Clive. Fabulous images once again.

Clive -wonderful photos. Saw my first Northern Flicker a few years back. Had to post my photo on a bird forum to identity him. It was so exciting to see a new guy in my yard - and thrilled I was able to get my photo. I am truly enjoying your photos. Keep posting.
Seems the birds you see in your area are very similar to what we see in Wisconsin

Lovely bird photos. The soft backgrounds make the birds really stand out.
