Anyway, this is somewhat seasonal in that there are blue skies and golden corn stalks ... which could also be wheat or barley stubble. White, gold and blue. Just north of town, Monday October 26. Clive, nicely composed shot, with layers of different colors and the golden stalks taking center stage.

I spent time on this colorful image trying to accomplish what Michael Freeman calls “The Reveal”. In Freeman’s book Fifty Paths to Creative Photography, he describes "The Reveal" as constructing the composition so that there are visual encouragements to lead the eye. According to Freeman the idea comes from the movies. The camera starts on one subject and then moves to Reveal a different subject. Pete, time well spent. This image is a classic -- well composed and colorful (with water reflections to boost).

Another seasonal one - a burning bush (eunonymus alatus) which turns bright red at the end of it's season and it's on the edge of a field that was recently planted with winter wheat so is green at the beginning of its season. Confession - although there wasn't much wrong with the original sky (it was an almost cloudless day) I wanted to try out the new sky replacement in PS to see how it would handle the twigs at the top of the bush - two clicks and this was the result - I was impressed so I'm leaving it with the new sky. Tony, another seasonal image with your trademark -- sharp, colorful, well-composed. Great job on the sky replacement.

Here in Eastern Colorado, fall colors are long gone. This is our color in this season - next year's bread. Newly sprouted winter wheat and clear blue sky is what there is for color. Rick, great shot! The leading lines of the winter wheat field make up for the long-gone colors. I really like it.

Celosia flowers ablaze with seasonal color. Helen, one can always count on these flowers to display seasonal colors at their best. Great job capturing them.
