Are you working on three of the same type of images - i.e. JPG or Raw? Are all of the images a Background Layers or Layers? Are any of the Images LOCKED? Three photos are the same extension. They show they are locked BUT in the video his are also locked.

There is a difference between a Locked and Background Layer. You can't move a locked layer.

Ok The image I have next to my photos are like what you have next to the background image.
I’m 100% sure I’m doing this correct as the video is so basic I can’t see where if any I’m doing wrong.
So two questions for you. 1; Are you able to do the same as in the video ? 2, Anybody use TeamViewer. I mean you connect to my pc and try it.

In answer to question 1 - Yes I am able to move the images between tab's.
Are you using a mouse or a laptop touch pad?
If you convert the background layer to a regular layer and try this does it work?

I am using a mouse.
I am convinced I’m doing it correct as it can’t be that hard.
As a test would you like to pair with my pc & try it.
This would then rule out user error.

This thread is becoming convoluted; here is some clarification. There is no need to unlock the background layer, make layers, etc. to be able to follow the instructions in the video the OP is using. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ml13ZCHrvs4&t=11sIn this video, . . . - Three images are brought from the Organizer into the Editor. - All three images consist of one layer -- Background (locked by default). - The goal is to drag two of the images onto the 3rd one. - When this is accomplished, the layer stack will display . . . Layer 2 (unlocked) Layer 1 (unlocked) Background (locked by default)You can do a Copy/Paste job, use the Move tool, or use the File>Place command. In the video, Anthony Morganti is using a feature that was introduced back in PSE 9 -- Tabs/Tabbed Images. IMHO, this is not an easy technique to use; it requires some practicing. You need to make sure you are "targeting" the tabs and holding down the mouse until the process is completed.

I don’t see any issue with regards how hard you say it is.
My problem & not been answered yet is, Why when I Hoover o W the tab I wish to place my photo does the tab NOT even highlight etc ? If the tab doesn’t highlight to advise the user it’s now selected etc then something is wrong.
It is this wrong piece I need to work out.
I have also mentioned but nobody has replied in using team viewer to YOU the group member to carry out this procedure on MY pc.
You will then see that what you are able to do on your system you can’t on mine.

Sometimes we can get caught up by doing something that doesn't work for us by following the same steps over and over. In Sepiana's post above she suggests an alternative, that might be much simpler and would achieve the same results. If you select each image.....command or control A; command or control C to copy and then go to your background layer and press command/control V to paste you will have your second image in place. Follow the same steps for the third image.

If the tab doesn’t highlight to advise the user it’s now selected etc then something is wrong. I'm not sure this answers your question. When I place the cursor on the tab I want to drag down, the tab color changes to a light grey. Also, the plus sign (+) is displayed next to the cursor. Have you tried this technique I mentioned earlier? The three images will be displayed in the workspace and you won't have to deal with tabs. 1. Click on the Layout button at the bottom of the screen. 2. Select either "Column and Rows" or "Rows and Column" (Either option will display your three images in the workspace.) 3. Use the Move tool to drag the 2nd image onto the 1st one.

You will then see that what you are able to do on your system you can’t on mine. As an IT professional, I would strongly caution anyone from allowing any kind of remote access to their PC from someone you don't trust completely. Even if both parties are well intentioned, there is the very real potential for unintentional problems. Even screen-sharing where one party is directing the other person what to do could have bad consequences. If anyone does want to help our member, I would ask that you conduct your business by private message as this level of support is outside the scope of this forum (and could run afoul of our rules if it becomes a solicitation of services).

So here is a short video clip so maybe you can see something. This is my workflow through the process. Three images called 1 jpg 2 jpg 3 jpg I plan to copy 3 jpg onto 1 jph Select move tool. Left mouse click & selct the image & with my left mouse button held down i move to the tab & over 1 jpg All the time with my left mouse button still down Now my understand in that the tab for 1 jpg at this point should be selected as in change colour etc BUT as you can see nothing changes & the tab 3 jpg still has the focus on it. Its only when i release the left mouse button that the focus is then on 1 jpg Looking at the tab image 1 jpg there is still only 1 jpg in the layers column etc. www.mediafire.com/file/6ajbgqopletf37d/ScreenCaptureProject1.mp4/file

So here is a short video clip so maybe you can see something. I plan to copy 3 jpg onto 1 jph This is what I see. - 3jpg tab displays a lighter color (selected). - When the cursor gets to 1jpg tab, this tab changes to a lighter color (selected). No change in the Layer stack indicates the drag-&-drop process didn't happen. It looks like it got interrupted somewhere during dragging the cursor down. For it to succeed, . . . - Mouse needs to be held down throughout the process. - Cursor dragged up and down in one fluid motion.

You wrote, When the cursor gets to 1jpg tab, this tab changes to a lighter color (selected).
If you are refering to "MY" video clip then 1.jpg & 3.jpg NEVER change colour etc. 3.jpg is always the selected item.
1.jpg stays the same from start to finish.
Mouse held down all the time 100%

Here is a short clip showing the tabs changing colour in respect of when the cursor is placed over them www.mediafire.com/file/cdwguefr0lrcqsq/ScreenCaptureProject1_2.mp4/fileNow go back & look at first video clip, You will see that 1.jpg NEVER changes colour thus explains why it doesnt work. More to the point why does it not change ? Thanks for you time,i understand that i can use another way but i wish to get over this now im in deep
