Recently I read about Mineral Moon and how to bring out the colors present on our moon. The examples I saw were spectacular so I decided to try the method which is taking a sequence of 20+ images then stacking them. My results are ok but not nearly as jaw dropping as the example I saw. https://www.reddit.com/r/space/comments/5dmdqm/98_mineral_moon_i_took/

That is fantastic, Pete. Strangely enough, I tried to get a photo of the moon last night - it was spectacular, shining near to small clouds. My moon came out like a white blob - and went straight into the bin.

My moon came out like a white blob - and went straight into the bin. Thank You! A full moon is almost impossible to photograph in automatic mode; cameras attempt to level out the scene trying to make the sky 18% gray which totally overexposes the moon.
Try again tonight in manual with these settings: ISO 100, 1/800 sec, f/4, daylight wb.

Oh, I see. Think I will give it a miss tonight - it's pouring down with rain.
