It was a looooong time ago, Jacki. But as I remember it, I just covered the rooted leaf with potting soil.....let the new plant develop and removed the starter leaf. I’ve never thought to remove the starter leaf, that sounds like a good idea, thanks. |

Thankfully I have not been impacted by that ant supercolony, but there are these tiny little ants around that exude a really bad smell when crushed, I think they are the Argentine ants in that article. That mound could also be a termite colony, but I wasn’t going to get close enough to find out..... |
