Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

Well this is timely as Mondays are either garbage day (black bins) or composting day (green bins). Blue bins are Fridays. How fitting that the wind is also howling and our emptied bin was blown over. A dull, drab day fitting for a photo of an icy boring back alley. It's been warm here for 2 or 3 weeks ... that ice is left over from the big snow 3 or 4 weeks ago .. snow packed hard by the garbage trucks.

More a side alley than a back alley but at least it's an alley! Tony

This is one of my favourite alleys, just down the road from where we live. The road on the left is Station Approach, which rises to station level and then descends again to street level. The narrow alley covers the same short distance staying at one level - perfect for the elderly or lazy pedestrian. i.ibb.co/yPP3Dbr/296-1.jpgIt is also the greenest alleyway I have come upon in this corner of suburban London. i.ibb.co/7SnK1SV/296-2.jpgBrenda

Here's a neighborhood back alley with a nice line of spilled paint in case there weren't enough leading lines already. Thanks for the theme Sepiana!

This alley, which runs between back gardens, started life as a bridle path. No more horses, the traffic is now mainly cars. i.ibb.co/jTGtHFk/Fox-1.jpgBlow me, I suddenly noticed a fox standing calmly in the middle of my shot and staring at me, as if to say, "This is my patch and I'm not afraid of you." I retreated first.... i.ibb.co/DkLX2tF/Fox-CU.jpgBrenda

The aptly named Bunkers Alley runs along the back of the Boys' School (on the right) and Beddington Park (on the left) and provides the perfect escape route for truant schoolboys. It is also reputed to be haunted by the ghost of Sir Walter Raleigh, who in the time of Elizabeth I had his country seat at Carew Manor just across the Park. People report a sudden drop in temperature at night in certain spots along the alley and dogs are spooked and refuse to go along the alley. Believe it if you will.... i.ibb.co/Ctr8X34/297-Back-Alley.jpgDennis

The blown-over garbage bin adds an element of visual interest.

More a side alley than a back alley but at least it's an alley! Tony, I really like how you angled your camera. The converging lines created by the brick work on the wall gives an illusion of depth.

Brenda Brenda, what an interesting alley! I really like your 2nd shot, with the alley going into the background and taking a turn. The viewer gets curious -- "What lies ahead?".

Alley from a dog's perspective kdcintx, I love how you placed your dog in the shot -- coming into the frame from the corner. We can feel his anticipation; he is ready to explore that alley.
