This alley, which runs between back gardens, started life as a bridle path. No more horses, the traffic is now mainly cars. Blow me, I suddenly noticed a fox standing calmly in the middle of my shot and staring at me, as if to say, "This is my patch and I'm not afraid of you." I retreated first.... Brenda Brenda, awesome! An alley with a history and with . . . a fox as a bonus. Her attitude says it all; she owns that alley. I love it!

The aptly named Bunkers Alley runs along the back of the Boys' School (on the right) and Beddington Park (on the left) and provides the perfect escape route for truant schoolboys. It is also reputed to be haunted by the ghost of Sir Walter Raleigh, who in the time of Elizabeth I had his country seat at Carew Manor just across the Park. People report a sudden drop in temperature at night in certain spots along the alley and dogs are spooked and refuse to go along the alley. Believe it if you will.... Dennis Dennis, what a finding! An alley with a reputation of being haunted (and with a literary connection). Great job capturing the light and shadows on the alley. Pleased to see you back. Looking forward to your continuing participation in the WP challenge. Happy New Year! Feliz Ano Novo!
