Love your ‘blast from the past’, always good to look back and see examples of what styles were like then. I look at some of my old pages and find I can’t remember how I did something, LOL.

This is my interpretation of something I saw on my FB feed this morning. Images from Pixabay, pinclipart, and the grainy vignette from Spoongraphics. W for Words of Wisdom.

Gosh, I think there's more than one wolf in my pack to feed, I'd be lying if I said I didn't slip them all a little something from time to time...

Gosh, I think there's more than one wolf in my pack to feed, I'd be lying if I said I didn't slip them all a little something from time to time... Unfortunately I think both of my wolves get a little something too. I can only try and hope to get the balance right...

Oh this is wonderful Jacki. Talent runs in the family I see. What a beautiful precious keepsake to have from your grandmother. I love the autumnal colours. Your cross stitch project will look gorgeous when it’s finished. Do you plan to have it framed to hang on the wall?

Oh, I agree with Lillias. What a great share, Jacki. Your presentation makes for a beautiful scrapbook page and both pieces of art are treasures. Your grandmother's painting has been so skilfully stitched on the aida cloth. Did you have a paper pattern created for you to follow? Or, could you possibly be doing this from eye? I'll look forward to your next page that shows both pieces framed and hung. Exceptional!

Thank you ladies for your kind comments. The painting lives with another family member and I have always coveted it, so thought the only way I would be able to see it was to make a copy of my own. Fortunately I have a software program that can convert photos into a cross stitch pattern, complete with DMC thread colours to match, could never imagine trying to do this by eye!. One day I will finish this project and get it framed, but ‘unfinished’ could secretly be my middle name...LOL

I didn't know that about Emu fathers. Come to think of it I don't really know a lot about emus full stop. Nice photos and layering of the various elements on the page.

Beautiful Jacki. These pictures remimd me of hydrangeas which I love. I love the elements you have placed behind the photos and the lace strip running horizontally too. A very nice page.

Thank you Lillias, I love hydrangeas too, but I don’t have much luck with keeping them alive. This small tree surprises me every year with its pretty snowballs.
