I having been using Faststone Image Viewer (FIV) as a first step in my editing workflow
After downloading my files from the camera, I download them into FIV and compare images to decide which are keepers.
It also displays Raw files, the embedded jpg I presume, which most other viewers do not
It provides a histogram and the Exif for each file and I find it the most effective program for this job.
Files deleted in FIV are also deleted from from my download file.
The full screen mode is also great.
One problem, my version automatically puts a date stamp on every image.
I do mostly Nature & wildlife photography and I insert text into each image to identify the species, the location and the date, to make identification easier, my memory is not that great.
Unfortunately the date stamp is both distracting and and irrelevant and often obscures this text.
I have worked out how to edit the date stamp but have not found a method of removing it entirely.
Can anyone help me out on this one?
