As to your black and white version, it would seem to me that a lone home with no neighbors in sight could be processed to give it a stark look. Thanks Helen. It's always good to get another perspective on things. After a couple of days I may just try this one in Affinity Photo and see how it pans out.

I wanted to go back to my original idea of making the apple tree part of the image. I loved the way it was overflowing with apples but thought they needed to be darker. I created two copies of the image and edited one for the apple tree: And one for the base image.... Using a mask I combined them, added a sky from Luminar, and then edited the image by selecting the house and using a levels adjustment. I also used the blender brush technique by Blake RudisFinally I cropped the image and added the oil painting filter from PSCC which is found as a flyout under stylize. This was my final result.

You did a nice job changing this from day to night, Judy. Please don't delete it. It is my fault because I forgot to state in the opening post that we are not supposed to add other elements or clip art to the image. So in this case, although the car fits in nicely, it was not in the original image.

First, I want to thank Helen for selecting this image. Second, I applaud all of you for your submission and your attempts to 'energize' this image. This was taken a number of years ago but I never did anything with it. I must say that I enjoyed all of the edits but I can only pick 3, so...
Tony - your edit is bright, colorful and brightens the foreground of the cabin Helen - The B/W effect with a slight blurred vignette is perfect for this cabin Frank - the rich, bright colors against the darker blue sky focuses ones attention to the old structure.
Again, thanks all for your contributions.
Jim
