Please note: I accidentally deleted this thread. I have recreated it but you will find that some of the original images are missing. If one of the missing images is yours and you would like to resubmit it to this thread, please let me know. That can be easily done.
Isn’t it interesting how one thing leads to another? I took the attached picture when we were in Houston recently. Thinking about what my theme would be for this month, I
kept noticing that whenever I looked at black and white web sites invariably street photography or portraits seemed to dominate. I am not comfortable taking portraits,
although I have experimented with street photography occasionally. So I kept going back to this picture that I liked from our trip. I do like square formatted images and
with cropping and a little clean-up I had gotten this picture to a “maybe I could build on this for our next topic” point. And then I discovered the work of Andre Kertesz.
I hope you’ll take the time to read this article because I think the “takeaways” will speak to many of you as they did to me.
I have attached some of this photographers work that I think we might all be able to relate to when trying to shoot “people”. So for this month our theme will be
“People/Street Photography” with pictures taken in whatever way you are most comfortable. They could be portraits, street scenes, body parts (hands/feet) or whatever
works for you. Hope you are willing to give this a try. When posting please give whatever background you feel would be most beneficial regarding your submission.
