The last few times, when I have posted images, they have come on in a big size. When I clicked on the pictures, instead of coming up bigger, they are smaller. Things have gone topsy turvy. I am doing what I have always done.

Just seeing if this helps to see what's happening. Same image sized to 1000 and 1920 pixels wide. Will delete if no help. UPDATE: No help here. The site software resizes to 640 pixels for display of both images. When opened in imgbb and the + eye glass clicked they resize properly.

I’ve noticed some odd image resizing behaviours too recently. Seems to be more with portrait rather than landscape. I’m not sure whether it’s imgbb doing the resizing or the site or a combination of the two. Anyone knew how it works?

What I see is that the displayed image is full-size if it is less than 640 pixels wide, otherwise the displayed image is 640 pixels wide. When you click on the image and then click on it again in imgbb, it displays as full-size. What I don't know is if this is a change in behavior or not. I am pretty sure that whatever you are seeing has nothing to do with our forum setup, as there have been no changes that I am aware of.

Thank goodness. I was about ready to add that to my list of computer problems. I have just put an image on the chimney challenge. Normal service has been resumed, it worked as it should.

Just to help understand how it works I played around with some different sizes and it would appear that for the forum imgBB only resizes the width to 640 pixels and not the height. That's fine for landscape but for portrait it means that unless you pick a specific height for the image you upload you can get some very tall and hard to view images. Curiously if you click on the image and view it in imgBB it does shrink the height for portraits so it fits on a screen (in the case below it shrinks the height to around 800 pixels from the forum sized 1900.) So here's what a 640x1900 pixel image looks like (be prepared to scroll!)

When I click on the larger image, it opens and gives me the magnifying glass. Clicking on that expands it only slightly (I have a 4K monitor, if that has anything to do with it). When I click on the smaller image, I don't get the magnifying glass at all.

It has done it again. Don't know how big these screen shots will be. But the second one is certainly much smaller.

When I click on the 1,920-pixel image (in imgbb) it expands so the sides touch the edge of my screen. The computer rez is set at 1920 wide.

My experience is the same as Andy's (on two computers, two monitors). Monitor #1 -- 3840 x 2160 resolution Monitor #2 -- 2736 x 1824 resolution

And four months later can someone fill in the newbie on best platform to add images. I have just used imgbb.com out of convenience. The What is Creative Effects Challenge post suggests Flicker or others. I would honestly rather not resize. So what issues does that cause?

It hasn't be revisited in quite a while, so some the links may no longer be valid (if you find one such and let me know, I will update that post).
The only issue that comes to mind is your comfort level about having a full-size image available for anyone to use. Once you upload an image you have lost control over it, some some people elect to upload images that they have resized downward.

Thanks. I don’t see Amazon Prime listed there? That would be free for Prime members. Does anyone know if they allow links to the images?
