Gmic plugin: If anyone is interested this is a free plugin originally developed for use in the free Gimp Open Source Image Editor.
You can now get versions of the plugin for Linux, Krita, Photoshop, PaintShop Pro, Affinity Photo and others.
It contains a plethora of filters. I have it installed and working in my copies of PSE and Affinity Photo.
If you look at the video linked below you will see where to get it and how to download it for your particular system. You will also see how to install it in Affinity Photo but if you skip that part of the video you will see the actual plugin in use to give you some idea of what you can use it for.

Hello Sepiana,
Please would you explain how you installed and are able to use the Gmic filter in Photoshop Elements. I have downloaded the program, have followed instructions on the site, to place into Photoshop. I am using W11 Photoshop Elements 2022.

I have it installed and working in my copies of PSE
As do I also; I have it in both of my Elements versions, PS CS2, and also in GIMP --- GIMP, by the way, is absolutely impressive; in my opinion, it walks all over any bought-and-paid-for program.

Thanks for sharing BillieJean. Great filters! I have successfully installed the 8BF filter and appears to be working fine in PSE 2020. Kind regards Chris PS I figured out that I need to select preview Zooming to see less than 100%  |

Thank you for the reply.
I cannot get Gmic to work in either Photoshop Elements 2022 Windows 11, or 2018 Windows 10. I just get a message stating the program has not installed. I will continue to search for a solution, since I have it working perfectly on Gimp.
I have many other programs installed in PSE, including Alien Skin, Nik, and 32to64. Any help would be appreciated.

I have double checked the folders. Nothing is missing.
I think the only to solve this is to go the G'mic site and register an issue.
There must be something missing somewhere along the line.

p1937 this is a long shot but...are you sure you are using the G'MIC plugin download appropriate for PS. I ask that as you say you have it working perfectly in Gimp but Gimp requires it's own G'MIC plugin file as noted on the G'MIC site.

Nothing is missing. Peggy, thanks for double-checking! This is baffling! I also have PSE 2018 and PSE 2022 (installed on two computers, Windows 10 and Windows 11). This plug-in works just fine. Let's do some recap. This is what I did. 1. Used the link posted in our Plug-ins thread on the Goodies board. -- GmicPlugin v2.9.6.3. 2. Downloaded the GmicPlugin_x64.zip folder. |

Success at last. Thank you for your help and the link to the plug-in. This is a Plug-in for W10, whereas what I downloaded from the Gmic site was a plugin for W11. (which of course I assumed would work with W11)
