Hi all I've been quiet here. In the past week I've been out most days driving to a couple of local lakes to watch and photograph snow geese. The come though in "spring" on their way to the Arctic where they breed. There were quite a few all week and then on Friday, April 2, a mass showed up for one day (gone yesterday) and I was fortunate to be there. Spent 2½ hours watching them, taking photos (821!!) and some video. Hard to pick favorites from the week ... here are a few. Here is a link to a 1 minute 46 second video I made from the April 2 videos at Tyrrell Lake ... it is best to actually download the video (if possible) as it does not play well directly from Drop Box. So that's what I've been up to all week ... close to 2,000 photos and having driven about 800 km in total back and forth (even though the two main lakes are only 35 minutes from the house). Great entertainment for an "old" guy. Feeling very fortunate. Clive The two landing are true snow geese, but what are called "blue morphs"
The small goose is not a snow goose, but a Ross's goose .. different species... "bird nerd" stuff
Lotsa geese ...
I quite like this photo...
Lotsa geese ...

Great dedication Clive, thanks for sharing this event, must be spectacular to see so many all at once! Your photos are amazing too. just watched the video, looks like they all get spooked by something at the end when they all fly up together, all trying to stay out of each other’s way.

Thanks all. It really is a lot of fun to see and the spring and fall migration of snow geese is something I look forward to. Thanks Jacki, but dedication is going to the gym every day. (Not me BTW). That is dedication. Chasing snow geese is pure pleasure. I could watch them all day. (What happened on April 2 was close to the best snow-goose day I've ever had.) I probably still have 3,000 or more photos of snow geese (I delete a lot) and there is no need for more. But it's like enjoying a hike or golf. You do it for the satisfaction is gives you. Makes me happy in a crazy world. Glad you like these. Thanks, Clive
