I just finished typing an E-Mail concerning mounting and wiring a starter on a tractor.
Seeing as things had been "attached", I included the words "is attached" a couple times; as in "the solenoid wire is attached" and "the HOT cable is attached".
I got my message done and hit Send and a notice popped up that I had forgotten to include two attachments and to take care of that before the message could be sent.
I had to choose the "Send Anyway" option.
If they can monitor and tell what I typed here in the confines of my home, they are most likely collecting and storing every single thing that is typed.

Not gmail....but similar. I asked my daughter the name of a tea and she sent me a picture of it in a text message on my phone. I just went on FB and there was an ad for it in my feed.

If they can monitor and tell what I typed Well that is sort of correct. But Gmail does not have a control room with warm bodies checking on you. There are algorithms in the background software that are programed to look for "attached" and automatically issued the popup alert when you hit send. Gosh, not a lot different than spell check or Grammarly that looks for errors. "they are most likely collecting and storing every single thing that is typed." Well now, there is some truth to that. Even deleted Gmail messages are stored on multi-redundant mainframes somewhere for up to several weeks or months. Years ago, there was Wikileaks release of thousands of supposedly deleted emails from several university researchers. They had not been playing nice nice in their dealings to suppress opposing views and contrary research data. They thought if they deleted the emails, they were safe. Their institution system seemingly removed the deleted messages, but not so. In some cases they are "never" deleted. In this case, smart hackers were able to unearth deleted emails going back a few years buried somewhere in the bowels of the computer systems! I suspect that if you and I typed "bad" words in our emails (bomb, attack, etc etc) that it would only be a matter time before suits in sunglasses paid us visit. I guess that's why bad people use encryption and the dark web. Lisbeth Salander stuff.

They are also monitoring/recording everyone's phone calls. But if anyone wants to monitor my email, etc., they must be terribly bored. LOL!

If you really want to get scared, google your screen name or google the addresses you’ve lived at. Recently looked up a number of houses we’ve had and found links to former addresses and the names of everyone in the household. And that was only the free stuff. They wanted me to purchase the rest of the info. Very creepy.
I have ads appear in seconds when I’ve looked things up. I have everything turned off to prevent some of this, but in order for you to successfully do searches or use websites, some tracking is necessary. But, do you really think any of those privacy settings actually work? I don’t. It’s a feel good lessen in futility.
But still - here I am...

There are no secrets anymore, anywhere. Not nice to contemplate!

I recently received an e mail offering an anti spyware product. The sales pitch stated the following.
"75% of websites are tracking you All Over The Internet. Thanks to all this tracking, your browser knows more about you than your own mother, spouse, boss, and even your doctor. And it’s exposing everything to advertisers, data miners, hackers and identity thieves. (Banking & Credit Card Info. Medical Data, Family & Personal Info) Every time you visit a website, trackers collect information on you to build a unique online profile that advertisers and hackers use to identify you. A recent report showed that trackers already have over 3,000 pieces of information on nearly EVERY U.S. consumer. Just by browsing the web, you're exposing your personal details".
It's scary, but probably true.
Kind regards Chris

In this day and age of nobody but us antique relics having a land-line phone - and therefore a phone number in a phone book - I almost daily have to try and track down someone's phone number; --- there is no "phone book" that I know of for cell phones. Like you say, I can see every address they ever lived at, their wife and kids names and links to their info, all their relatives and all of their "associates"; I can see every land-line phone number ever associated with them; and....., about one time in ten, I may actually find a legitimate current cell phone number. I never pay the fee to see the complete information; if one did pay the fee and the simple information they seek is still not available, I bet it would be like pulling eye teeth to get a refund = your money would be gone down a dark hole.

I googled my screen name (kdcintx). Several posts from PSE&M were listed in the search results.

Five years ago I did a short bio about my scrapping life and posted it on a scrapbooking site. It’s still on the “front page” of the google search. There are still links to answers I provided on an Apple site many years ago. It freaks me out even when I already know that’s what I will find. Hey, what’s the “shelf life” to this stuff??? 😳😳

As well as everything said in our house, thanks to Alexis. But as you say, if there is monitoring of all that silence punctuated by mindless jabber, they are getting exactly what they deserve!

I’ve often said our dossier must be some of the most boring reading they’ll ever see. It can probably be condensed to one paragraph. 😴😴
