As this thread progresses, the projects just keep getting better. Again - I have to say - the talent here is amazing. But you already knew that.

Saved this as a png file as I wanted it to post as a circle.....glad it worked.
Really nice Helen; your treatment really communicates a loop-the-loop dynamic!

Must admit that first video lost me rather quickly so I just made something up rather quickly. Made a pixel selection, pulled it, inverted it, did the polar coordinate thing and used it as a background to the selected lotus blossom. Without the inversion step the lotus blossom had got rather lost in the background. Tony
This is quite pleasing Tony; well done! I wanted to make a couple of comments though. By copying the stretched pixels into a new square document before doing the polar coordinates bit the result will be circular; if it is not a square it will come out as an oval (which may well be what you wanted!)
Also, if your selection is 1 pixel wide, there will be no "seam" after the polar coordinates bit (but again, the less striated look may be what you wanted). If so, there are ways to hid the seam behind the subject, as is done in the BlueLightning tutorial.
The inversion step was brilliant; it results in complementary colors, insuring that they will accent the subject. Thanks for your advancement of this technique!

Using my favorite technique - clipping things to text And yes, you've seen this photo before - I have no new photos since I haven't been anywhere in two years.

Would never think to use this with text, Janice. Thanks for pointing that out.

Helen, I’m big into clipping just about anything to text. You can get such a Big Bang for little effort. Text does not even have to be simplified before clipping.

When I first looked at this I thought it was going to be a bit complicated......but your directions and examples are terrific, Tom.
Thanks Helen! I also thought it was a bit complicated at first, but I found that after breaking it down into the component steps it turns out to be pretty manageable, and the results are totally awesome!

I like this effect. This is one I did a while back which I have updated a little... Images from yopriceville and Pixabay. BG Texture - Utopia by Sydney. I can't stop looking at this one Lilias! The colors and shadow are stunning, and you incorporated the effect perfectly!

Tried to create something a little more "advanced" after watching the video again......got lost so went my own way. Added the frame which really looks overdone just to practice that technique.

You certainly succeeded, Helen. WOW! Love the colors and the subject. The frame goes very well with the whole composition. Good job!
