June 20, 2021 The sun was behind the bucks, off to the right. The end result is pleasing, at least to my eyes. The fawn was hanging around a children's playset at the summer place.   |

Thanks all. I was most pleased with the "buck" photo. The fawn was hardly in a remote pristine wilderness...pretty cute little things. We are so fortunate to have digital (for many reasons) and the buck photo is one of them. The hard lighting conditions were overcome in PSE, the result being close to what my eyes saw. Black bears, wild deer, beautiful bird life, you’ve got it all in your part of the world. Thanks Jacki. The numbers of animals and diversity are less here than most places. Perhaps we have more access and there are fewer people where we live. It is neat that, despite human intrusion, these critters thrive. They feast on lush road allowance grass and barley crops all spring and summer. |

I have seen countless pictures of Mule Deer, wore the pages thin on hundreds of copies of Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, and Fur Fish and Game, and this is the first time I have ever seen a picture of Mule Deer with their tails up; I never knew before that they have a tail like a mule. I had always assumed that their tales were similar to the big wide affair of the Whitetail. Nice picture ! |

BuckSkin Thanks. Tails are quite different. This buck tails were all up because they were having a communal poop! Mule deer are a relatively new species ... here. Clive Mule butts  Whitetail  |
