Osprey with lunch being sucker a l'orange (fish name is sucker) Had to spin into town this morning and the osprey was on a sign post with the sucker. It flew off and turned around and came right back. Some days you get lucky. Near Cowley, June 26, 2021

A couple of days ago an osprey landed on my balcony railing.....we have a couple of nests near-by. By time I ran for my camera he was gone of course. This morning I saw some flying ...they moved so fast I couldn't even find him in the viewfinder! So after that experience I have an even greater respect for your ability to capture this magnificent bird in flight.

Very impressed that you were able to catch him with his lunch on the fly!

Thanks all. They are neat to see. I've photographed ospreys in the same spot since about 2008. .they moved so fast I couldn't even find him in the viewfinder! I have trouble finding and tracking flying birds, especially with the big lens. This was a "gimme" ... lucky me. It was in this sign and flew off as I approached closer. I assumed it would go to the platform or a fence post across the coulee, but it swung around and landed on the same post which was most unusual. It was quartering toward me so tracking was easy.
