From today’s trip to a country town. Love the "helicopter" although I'd not like to ride in it.

these roses appeared next to a bridal shop. They are plastic blooms stuck into an old shrub?

Great weather and it has the sap running in the sugar maple that is attracting attention from the birds - this downy woodpecker is a frequent visitor. Tony

Was on the hunt for the saw-whet owl today. I spent two hours "outback" in the valley park. No saw-whet found. The park is several hundred acres, but I spent the time in just part of a 6 acre bush. And these small owls are the same size as a Coke can and tend to blend in. Tough searching. Oh well. I had no (few) sunflower seeds with me today, but that did not stop the chickadees and nuthatches from checking me out. The chickadees were crazy and this is not part of the park where they see many people. I found a dozen seeds in my jacket pockets and they were excited. They landed on my hat, on my cell phone when I tried to take a photo of one on my lens. One walked along the long lens toward my face as if demanding seeds. Way too much fun. Herewith a chickadee on my lens taken with my cell phone and a male white-breasted nuthatch. Lovely walk.

I’d say your camouflage was working well then?

I’d say your camouflage was working well then? Camo seems to help for things like deer. However, I think you could wear a hot pink tutu and sequined coat ( ) and the chickadees would still come over. They have no fear. I recall ~65 years ago seeing them my uncle's farm (where no one fed them) and they'd still come close to check you out. Sounds like great fun indeed. Thanks. It is always nice get to out.

i.ibb.co/VjP9S5C/IMG-0384.jpgI could bore you with many photos of my amaryllis. It is in full bloom right now, and has 6 open blossoms. But a closeup is kinda fun too. What I cannot get to show better are the tiny flicks of reflection from the blossom. You can see a few, there are more. The only problem with amaryllis is that they don't have any fragrance?? cjt

the tiny flicks of reflection from the blossom. The reflection flecks are amazing. I placed our one open blossom in the sun and areas glowed. Photos taken. The first ones we had were red and white. The last HUGE on is crimson like yours. Will post in a while. UPDATE: those microscopic, but brilliant, reflections are hard to photograph. Tried it. Meh. Shall we start a contest? cjt Will post an amaryllis in a new thread. After this, I'll be gone all afternoon.

Very dull day here and these two best of the bunch of pictures I took. I think the whole idea of this thread is to capture what catches your eye on a particular day or to just share a bit of your day. So I think your pictures are a perfect fit for this thread, Jim.
