I am always trying to think of ways to encourage member participation. Today's Picture is meant to be a thread where members can post daily with one or two (within the same post) pictures that were taken that day . The pictures should only be a reflection of whatever caught your eye on a particular day. Feel free to give a little back-story or ask for some advice. Comments about other's pictures are up to you, when and if, you feel like it. How often you participate is totally up to you.....daily, weekly, occasionally. So let's get started and see if we can inspire and encourage each other and just have some fun.

I often take pictures from my balcony. Looking around for something of interest this morning, I decided on this one of the tennis court. Tried to make the most of the triangles in the image.

The diagonal lines definitely add interest and energy Helen. Please notice the blue lines, however. Those are for marking out a pickleball court, which is the game they are playing! FYI, pickleball is my new-found passion. I swear I shed 10-20 years as soon As I enter the court, bounding about like a spry 50-year old!

Another sporting pic - I was passing a local school today which has been learning remotely and with team sports on hold the soccer pitches have not had a lot of action (or maintenance). The field had a fine crop of birdsfoot trefoil so matching the colour of the goalposts. I'm also very fond of symmetry as you might guess from where I stood to take the shot! Tony

Had to replace the battery in the RC Radio today so I'm ready to go flying my helicopters tomorrow.

tourerjim ......that must be a fun activity. Think this thread might be a way of finding out a little bit more about each other. Peterj ........nice theme for your wall. tonyw ......remember you mentioning your love of symmetry before. You did a great job lining up your shot.

So you and Clive are both killing me with your activity level. I assure you Helen, I do NOT bound anywhere. Will submit a couple of photos in a while.

Anything tennis related and I’m immediately interested, pickle ball is not something I am familiar with, but I do envy your overhead views. All those lines would have me bamboozled if I was playing on those courts.

Peterj, more envy, love that you have a photo workshop to decorate, train photos are great reminders of travel memories. tourerjim, helicopter pilot, impressive, guess you need a bit of space for this hobby. I have a very cheap drone that so far I am too scared to fly...maybe one day soon.

Two photos from today. One on the road home and one at home. One not happy and one happy. 1) Wind turbines across Alberta are idle today because there is little wind. These non-spinning, idle turbines were near Pincher Creek, Alberta around noon today. An example of their huge weakness in grids. It's hot and power demand is high so no help from these big fans. They can't be relied on in extreme cold or heat which we get both of in Canada because they are not dispatchable, i.e. not on demand. 2) On a happier note, this yellow tiger lily has just started to bloom in our yard at home.
