Birdin' in the valley today was good. Had a great 3-hour walk with several friends .. petted some nice dogs ... chatted with some nice people. Sunny and no wind. And finally we found a tiny saw-whet owl. These little owls are no bigger than a chonky Coke can. (BTW, when you are old like me it pays to walk with young people. )

I was walking back to the truck after looking for birds. The sun was bright and so I lined it up behind the tree to shade my eyes as I walked south. Humm, methinks. I only had the 200-600-mm lens so zoomed out to 200 mm and took ten photos to make this vertorama. The result is tall and skinny so not sure how it will look on your viewing devices. Colour and B&W ...

I love trees and am known to point them out to anyone who I may be with as they catch my eye. I prefer the black and white one. I also think you may have another image there if you chose to crop a bit above the horizon.

What caught my eye was the shadow from my tree to where I was standing.

I see that the majority of the mass of that tree is to the left, with only a single limb to the right; the one main fork to the right even hooks back to the left; what about it's location has caused this ?
