Lucky you, today we are sweltering again in 39° heat, same again for tomorrow.
Our high yesterday was 39° and the low last night 32° but it sure wasn't sweltering.
Predicted low tonight of 27°; my three layers of heavy long johns will keep me warm though. |

I still kick myself once in a while...
A few years ago, I was at an automotive/antique vehicle swap meet, outdoors, at the Marion County fairgrounds in Indianapolis.
This old man had a huge assortment of various goodies piled on folding tables and laid out on the ground.
Among all this junk, he had probably two dozen old antique cameras, just in a pile on an old rug, some just like the one in your picture and a few Brownies and other brands; one big dollar apiece.
I had already taken my big wagon back to the truck to unload at least five times --- a very long walk --- I was on the verge of collapse --- and my wagon was running over again.
I glanced at that pile of cameras and kept walking.
Later that evening, a lot of vendors already packed up and gone, I was heading back through there on my way to the last row after something I had decided to see if it was still available.
The old man and all his junk were packed up and gone.
Behind his spot was a light-pole with a 55-gallon open-top drum sitting against it.
The drum was running over with garbage; and, piled against the light-pole were the whole lot of old classic antique cameras; he wasn't taking them back home anymore.
I could have --- and should have --- taken the whole lot --- free for the taking === I just noticed them and kept on walking.....
There are so many uses I could have put them to; so many neat photos I could have taken of my little buddy pretending she was taking a photograph of something while I took a photo of her.
Old women would have been lined up, trying to talk me out of one for decorative purposes; instead, they are laying in a land-fill somewhere ----- and it's all my fault .... |

The two extreme closeup photos, are they cropped from the "whole flower" photos, or are they separate "macro" shots ?
They are very nice either way; and, if cropped, you had everything tack-sharp and dead on in the parent photos. |

Thank you Buckskin. The close-ups were cropped from the original photos. It helped that the camera has a crop frame APS C sensor with 24 Megapixel. The reason they look so sharp is because I ran them through Topaz Photo AI.

Your flowers are a nice reminder of what's to come in our area, Chris . I especially like the detail captured in the last one as noted above by BuckSkin. When we started this thread in 2021 the idea was for members to share one or two pictures in a single post of whatever caught their eye on that day. Your post serves as a good reminder for all of us try to keep to that number. Please don't delete any of your pictures....they will serve as a good visual reminder for all of us. And please know that this is not the first time....and probably won't be the last time that request has been forgotten. |
