Some pictures taken in Asbury Park today. This mural on the Ocean Avenue side of Sunset Pavilion 2016 by R.C. Hagans, as part of the Camera and a Can exhibit, which highlighted New Jersey photographer Danny Clinch's work. Frank Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary artist, activist and founder of OBEY Clothing who emerged from the skateboarding scene.

As a reminder this thread is for something that catches your eye on any given day. There is a limit to two pictures a day. It's been awhile since the purpose of this thread was explained. It is not necessarily meant for a special picture but a way to share a little about your "everyday experiences". Noticed these rather unusual clouds this morning....my first thought was that they looked like tractor marks. So I present to you...... Tractors in the Sky

Unless you have been off-line and living in a high mountain cave in Tibet, you will have heard me go on and on about "much needed rain." It has been critically dry here. The reservoir at our summer place is low and in dire need of mountain snow melt or spring rains. Unfortunately the high country is not getting the rain that is happening here out on the plains. So far 32 mm has fallen around home and another 20 or 30 mm expected tonight and it is raining hard right now. Now THAT is a drawn out segue to my photo of the day. White pelicans hunkered down in the howling wind and rain this morning on the ponds across the road. No day to be fishing.

Thank you Lillias, Jim and Clive. The lilac was taken with my iphone 14....seemed like an unusual cloud to me. So interesting the way your pelicans are lined up, pontiac1940!

A rainy, gray day here but this red umbrella and the two pugs had me running to find where I had last put my camera down!

Pretty decent aurora last night. These were taken at about 1:30 this morning. Directly overhead. This is very special. This is our humble summer place lighted with many solar lights. This is so special because the shot is to the south. At this latitude, it is rare to see lights in the southern part of the sky. Pretty sure a larger version will be printed. Happy as a clam in high tide.
