We managed to get to the marina this morning and the environmental agency said the level of water had dropped a metre overnight and only one narrow boat sunk, in the picture you can still see some flooding left on the marina island. The sluice gate you can see the rise in level of water rushing through.   |

Thanks Clive, do you know why are they're called "The river valley hills" Ahhh, a wee bit confusing. The Oldman River Valley is not a subtle, wide valley. The bulk of the valley was created during the rapid melting of the last Great Ice Age ice sheet mainly between about 10,000 and 13,000 years ago. (The amount and speed of melting [not caused by you car] over a few centuries was unimaginable.) These valleys on the plains are called glacial outwash valleys. The walls can be quite steep. So the side walls are what I meant by valley hills. October, 2022  |

Is that the native Indian rock Wiki reports: Chief Mountain has been a sacred mountain to the tribes of Native Americans in the United States and First Nations in Canada for hundreds of years. |

Thanks Clive, I seem to remember some way back on here there was competition with a mounting just like that one and with bit of history from memory.

As the sun was rising.... WOW that is quite a sky... Morning light spreading over the landscape.... I think your second one would lend itself to a nice paint effect of some sort. |

Went for an 9km walk around Narrabeen Lake today for my wife's birthday - her choice before you ask  Perfect weather and few people on a weekday - weekends are very busy. Not especially interesting snaps but I like the signage- councils often (and sometimes justifiably) come in for a lot of criticism, but little things like this can make all the difference I consider it a good use of my rates if it cheers people up in these trying times!   |
