Nothing exotic today. I (half-heartedly) puttered about the summer place and will take a load of supplies home tomorrow. Lovely fall day. For dinner, I BBQed chicken thighs and a baked yellow-fleshed potato and had a carrot and salad to go with. The late-day light was pretty on the Porcupine Hills and on the trees below our property. El Cheapo cellphone photo.

There's nothing like a little mist to create some wonderful atmosphere, Jim.

After seeing an article about a century old collection of books, signed by authors from the early 1900s, I finally got to see some of them today.

A wet cold evening where we are currently staying but the cottage has an 85 year old fireplace and there is nothing like a good old log fire to stay warm. Tony

The foreground planned for Oct 6th Milky Way Good luck Peter. The new moon phase is marked on my calendar. Not sure where I'll be that week. A rancher friend in the foothills has a possible MW site. Shall see. Clive

hmmmm.....not sure I've ever seen one like that, Jacki. That's an underside view, no way was I going to get around behind the other side of the bush, this tree is laden with these icky caterpillars, I think they turn into some kind of boring white moth. The chooks have no trouble eating them despite their pretty colours.

Caterpillar just hanging around. One of those deadly, spitting death crawlers only found on Oz? Kidding. You have your share of somewhat nasty critters down under. Hope you have a lovely spring and summer. Days drawing in here. Lovely weather the past few days. Clive

Clive Yes, we do like to live on the edge down here, but you have bears and they're not the cuddly type as far as I can see. I have a worm farm that is also home to some redback spiders, one day I'll post a photo, they're not on the large side and can be elusive.
