And, as already been mentioned by others - I also prefer the new photo. The road ahead of the bike adds a visual I really like.

I fixed the issues you pointed out. now for printing, would go with paper print, wrap around canvas, metal or? ? the last time I had anything printed was back in the film days. this will be a birthday present to the lady. this one is 20x24, but now I know I can redo it to another size if I have to

It's a difficult decision, but I don't think I'd do a typical poster print because it's a gift and the frames for larger sizes of posters aren't all that special.
I haven't seen metal in person, but metal seems to fit the subject matter best, though wrap around canvas is really cool. Canvas will contribute to the muted look of the project - maybe too much???
However, metal may be difficult to get in larger sizes or cost may be prohibitive.
Whichever company you want to go with - check reviews for the company. Take the complaints with a grain of salt because people are more motivated to complain than to compliment, but if the complaints are overwhelming the good comments, analyze them carefully. You can usually tell a person who would never be satisfied no matter what, from a person who has a legitimate complaint.
But in the end - your thoughtfulness will count more than the medium. She will love your gift. It's the narrative that will get her - it's that good.

It's the narrative that will get her She wrote it. We had spent three days riding together and I took off a couple times to take pictures of her as she went by. She lives 1100 miles away and I'm debating whether to order the print online and have it shipped or get it locally and deliver it.

If you are considering a metal print you might want to check printique. I have only had one done there but was very happy with the result. I have a friend who has ordered several from them. She recommended the White Satin as she said the glossy reflected too much light for her taste. They frequently offer a discount for first-time buyers.

...I'm debating whether to order the print online and have it shipped or get it locally and deliver it. It's really great to have something shipped direct. No need for repackaging and the shipping cost is built into the printing order. I do not think it's impersonal to have it shipped directly to her - if that's what you are thinking. Realize that - if you are getting metal prints (from what I've been reading) they are kinda fragile - easily bent. I'm not sure you would want to travel with it. I know the down side of not giving the gift direct - is getting to see it - and in getting to see her reaction when she receives it. I agree with Helen about Printique. My experience with them was positive - in both getting two books printed in a timely manner - and in using their website. The books were such high quality compared to Shutterfly, but then again, they were more expensive. I ordered hard cover lay flat books - two different sizes - one with satin finish pages and one with glossy. The pages were heavy cardboard - beautifully printed. I still cannot decide whether I preferred the satin or glossy - both were fantastic. The cover was printed with one of my designs. I know you aren't getting a book printed, but if they have metal like Helen mentioned, based on my experience, I would definitely trust this company with my order. Take note of her comment - about one finish reflecting too much light.

what do you think about thee wrap around canvas? would that work with the text? You would need to expand the canvas and make sure you would have enough to wrap without affecting where your text is on your project. As far as I know, they use your submitted project as is and wrap it. In your case, that would mean part of the project might end up on the side - and that would not work for what you created. I believe some places that do canvas wrap around have an option to have a solid color on the sides instead of using part of your submitted design - that would guarantee your project would print exactly as created. I have no real knowledge, but I am assuming if you tell them you want a solid color on the sides, they plan for that before printing - adding extra and not using any of your submitted project. Investigate the places you might use. They will tell you what you need to submit in order to make it work. They would probably provide a template to show you just where the wrap around would start. You use the template on your project to help guide you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Did some recon: From 'canvas on the cheap' - note how part of your project is used on the sides. In your case, that would pull the text and part of your photo off the front - pretty much screwing up what you created. However, if you had substantial border around the project before submitting, the plain border of your project would end up as the wrap around.
From 'bay photo' - solid color edges
Actually, I'm not so crazy about the solid color edges. It looks like an after thought. You might have better success if you altered your project to incorporate enough extra project to do the wrap. I do like the way wrap around looks in the top example, I just don't care for the light solid color along with that dark print on the second example. So many choices - again, though - not a fan of the fade to white (or any other color). However, You do not have to worry about falsely extending a canvas as you would with a photo. You have the option of redoing your project to incorporate an area that can be used to wrap. And then there are frames you can get for your canvas prints... From 'canvas champ'
Yikes - so much to think about

what do you think about thee wrap around canvas? would that work with the text? richrdstone, Earlier in this thread, I suggested checking Adorama's printing services -- Printique. When they do this kind of printing, they stretch the canvas on a 1 ½ inch wood frame. This will give you an idea as how to position the text. Canvas Prints -- Custom Canvas
They also offer an wrap-around canvas option called Solid Border. You pick a color and they will apply it to the stretched sides of the canvas. This may be a way to address the text issue. If you are interested in their wrap-around canvas printing, I would recommend following their advice – send them an e-mail or give them a call. EMAIL:SERVICE@PRINTIQUE.COM

I think its great; although I would like to see it with a few versions of drop shadows on the text. That would give it a 3D look. If you need help on how to do that just ask.
Oh and now I see I didn’t refresh the thread. Already printing. I was gone celebrating a 96th birthday.

If OP doesn’t need it, another reader may see the advice and use it for their project. I’d like to hear how you’d add shadow on the text.

Easiest way is Layer Menu>Layer Styles, Drop Shadow check mark and then choose your options. Good short video here.

Thanks for the video - a good reminder of what PSE has in Styles -
I haven't had too much success with layer styles and text, but then again, I've gone away from a lot of things I used to do. Habits change so.
