Once again I am asking members to consider being an IOW judge. If you look through some recent IOW announcements, you will notice that judges vary in their approach to this task. There is no hard and fast rule about how to judge or what to consider. Members who choose to judge decide what appeals to them and how they want to share their choices. What is important is that they take the time to consider which images they would like to call to our attention. The next rotation will begin August 23, 2021. Many of the members who serve as volunteer judges have been doing it for quite awhile....some have been carried over from the old EV website. So we are talking about at least 5 years! It is only natural that someone would like to take a break from judging. I always think that volunteering shouldn't be a life sentence. Since we are now on an alternate week announcement, if you volunteered you would have one turn to judge over the next 6 months. It would be wonderful to add some new names to this group. If you've given thought to being a judge in the past, now might be a good time to give it a try. There is a private board visible to judges where questions can be answered, you can switch your weeks if you need to and practice creating your post before it is seen on the website. Feel free to send me a PM or preferably post a reply in this thread. Thanks for considering this request.

Thanks to Helen for managing the judging duties.
Being a judge helps us view creations, images and photos from a different perspective. I am not a scrap booker, but appreciate the talent and efforts of scrappers. I am harsh photo critic from decades of being brainwashed about photo technique. No matter, I try to be fair and understand that not everyone will like my selections. We are sometimes judging "apples and oranges." Helps us think.

not everyone will like my selections. .......and that's perfectly OK. Art is subjective and there is no "correct choice". I'm glad you mentioned that, Clive.
