And if you change your mind about even doing a post, how do you delete it??

I do not see the Delete Post, all I see is "Bookmark"! Is the preferences the problem?? I am on a MacMini with latest OS X. I'm not sure the "Quote" is operating right either. Annoying. cjt

I do not see the Delete Post, all I see is "Bookmark"! You need to go to the right upper corner of the message box. Then, click on the "Gear" icon. In the drop-down menu, click on "Delete Post".

Make sure you are not in edit mode. Hit the little gear as the post appears in the thread. If you hit the gear while in edit mode, “bookmark” appears. Believe me, I learned this the hard way.

thanks for helping, as always. One of the reasons this is such a great forum!! cjt, you are most welcome! Glad to help. Just remember that you want the "Gear" icon located to the right of the "I Like" icon (as shown in my screenshot). photoshopelementsandmore.com/post/84826I'm not sure the "Quote" is operating right either. Annoying. Are you talking about the quote you made in this post? photoshopelementsandmore.com/post/84822If so, you did it right. Now all you need to do is type your reply. Place your cursor underneath the Quote box and start typing.

I keep missing a step in the "Quote" function when doing a post. The steps are?? The quote function is a little counter-intuitive. If you wish to embed a quote in a post, the first step is NOT to start your post using the Reply button. Instead, click the Quote button on the post you wish to quote first. Once you do that, a message edit window will open up (just as if you clicked the Reply button), but the text of the post will be quoted and enclosed in a frame. You can then click in that window below the quote if you wish to add comments. And if you change your mind about even doing a post, how do you delete it?? If you change your mind and wish to abort the post before clicking the Create Post button, just click on most anything else beside the Create Post button. I usually just click on the bread-crumb list to back up one level (see image below).

A few times today I have tried to click "quote" in order to reply to someone's specific post but only get " The thread in which you are posting has no effects applied to it" and NO reply box anywhere. Please advise. Thanks.

You didn't say what your exact motions were, so I am uncertain how you got the message you reported. However, here is how I created this post:
I was just reading your post and clicked the Quote button on the top right of your message. An edit window with the quote inside a box opened up. I clicked below it and then just started typing this response.
Try it yourself now. Don't click reply or anything else, just the Quote button. You should see this entire post in an edit window. To abandon it if you wish, click the back button in your browser, or in the breadcrumb list right below the main menu click "Need help on Forum posts" to take you back to the top of the thread.
Let me know if it worked for you.

And if you change your mind about even doing a post, how do you delete it?? If you haven't submitted the post yet, just right-click > select-all > Delete the text and move on to something else.

Actually, you don't even have to do that much! To abandon the post you are composing just click on any main menu item. More specifically, if you look at the bread-crumb list (right below the main menu) it says "Reply", click on the bread-crumb before that to exit the reply editor and go back to the thread you were reading.

Please advise. Thanks. Thanks Tom. I just clicked quote (not "reply") and am now typing right underneath the box in your post that has my quote inside it, so let's see if this works. I previously was expecting an entire new box to type in so hope this works?
