Took my first edit into NIK Collection CEP4 and added an Old Photo Effect. Added a texture layer by Erica Paree with the Multiply blend mode. Frame from HiClipart.

My panels always come in too big.....but now my RAW panel is too small. tonyw / fotofrank .....what dimensions do you use when adding your RAW panel? I won't be much help as I'm on a PC with Windows 10 and use a program called SnagIt to grab whatever part of the screen I want - so the dimensions depend on the screen resolution and my Basic panel will be around 500x250 pixels with my screen resolution set at 1920x1080. That's quite an elegant edit, Lillias.

Tried to give an aged/vintage look to the image. BG paper from Something Old Textures by Ashe Designs Scrap Frames by Cottage Arts Applied a Chalk and Charcoal filter from the Sketch filters Added a scratchy brush from ‘myphotobrushes’ to add scratches to the image to further age it.

Lillias - scratchy brush was a great idea. It seems all our old photos have scratches, don't they

Looks like a page from an old photo album, Lillias. I agree with Janice about the scratches.

Very nice Helen. I like the black on the rich coppery color. It makes a nice contrast.

You certainly have created a spooky night scene, Frank. Once again I have forgotten to add that adding items that weren't in the original image is not in keeping with this challenge. This has happened before and is not your fault so PLEASE don't remove your image.

Took into FotoSketcher and applied the Painting 6 (Oil Painting) Effect.

Lots of brush texture in your painting, Lillias. I had thought we might see more artistic edits on this image. I like the rich color.

Used DXO Photo Lab 4 for basic RAW development (global tone, color, & denoise). Moved To Photoshop for: distortion corrections & distractions removal; Studio 2 plug-in for HSL Color Tuning, AI Remix, & Abstraction filters, all for color separations and stronger definition of edges; replaced sky and used ACR Adjustment Brush for final tweaks of tone & contrast in selected areas. Joining the trend this monochrome version of the above edit was created in Nik Collection Silver Effects Pro 3. Modified the Vintage Category preset Antique II, and added tint toning and image border adjustments for the vintage look.

So nice to see you join this challenge, Pete. I don't think any of the participants to this challenge have used DXO Labs before so that is especially interesting to see the results of your editing. I don't have Topaz Studio so had to google Abstraction Filter. After taking a quick look at the video it seems it's similar to Topaz Simplify. Your vintage toned image from SE 3 gives it a very unique look.

Thanks for the introduction to Dave Kelly’s videos on Topaz Studio 2 Helen. I’ve just spent a most enjoyable hour following him showing how he created painterly digital art from an image downloaded from Pexels. Always something to learn.
