That's a beauty, Tony. I was disappointed when I went for mine....the flowers were mostly spent.

On the weekends the road in front of our building becomes a nightmare. People park on both sides of the street (it is a private road owned by the business across the street). As a result management opens the back gate for the condo.

Too hot to keep them closed. whippet, great interpretation of Open. Very interesting windows. We don't see them in my neck of the woods. I like how you went for symmetry in your composition.

People enjoying the open air on Reigate Hill in Surrey today. Matthew Matthew, I really like how you included the human element in both shots. It's like an invitation for the viewers to join and enjoy the open air.

An open book is an open door to another world. Brenda Brenda, this is a classic! Very effective composition, simplistic, uncluttered. And a nod to one of my favorite English writers -- Charles Dickens.

Nice to find an open dipladenia flower today - this plant has survived two winters in the basement, infestations of aphids and several radical prunes but outside today it looked in the prime of life! Tony, you captured this flower at the right moment. It's open alright. Beautiful color!

Here's an open Buick. Thanks for the theme Sepiana, Dennis, Brenda, and Matthew! Bill, I was wondering who would come up with an open (convertible) and you did it. What a gem! Your capture does justice to its beauty.

This week's theme offers the perfect opportunity to open a bottle of bubbly! Dennis Dennis, you got a winner here! I love the composition, with the bubbly flowing diagonally across the frame. It adds a sense of motion to the image.

We live on the edge of town and to the west was a farm field. That's all changing apace as a new rec center and school will be built 800 m west of our house in that once-farmed field. They are connecting a new sewer line to an old sewer line to accommodate the new complex. They have opened a hole to make the sewer line Clive, nice finding for this week's theme. This is a huge open hole. Quite a sight!

Another open flower - from a visit to a local lotus pond today - a windy day but caught this one in the transition from flower to seed pod. Tony, beautiful! I love its painterly look and the vivid details. It brings to mind the flower paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe.

The landscapers truck had both the back and side door open. On the weekends the road in front of our building becomes a nightmare. People park on both sides of the street (it is a private road owned by the business across the street). As a result management opens the back gate for the condo. Helen, very nice. I really like the downwards angle (perspective) you used in these shots. It makes "Open" stand out.
