Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.NOTE This week’s theme was a joint suggestion by dennis9. (Thanks - Dennis, Brenda, and Matthew!)

Reigate Hill in Surrey today. Brenda Lovely scene. Are there stony outcrops on that hill with seashell fossils? About 65 years ago, I recall being on a high hill either in Surrey or Hampshire and the stones had fossilized small sea creatures. Thanks Clive

Nice to find an open dipladenia flower today - this plant has survived two winters in the basement, infestations of aphids and several radical prunes but outside today it looked in the prime of life! Tony

About 65 years ago, I recall being on a high hill either in Surrey or Hampshire and the stones had fossilized small sea creatures. Thanks Clive Clive, you made me think. I've walked the north Downs and South Downs, but never discovered any fossils, though both areas are predominantly chalk. Can't remember any outcrops, through there are plenty of old quarries, which I am sure must be rich in fossils. I did see on one pamphlet that just west of Dorking in Surrey, on a track called Carriage Road, fossil sea urchins have been found. Extraordinary that this area was once sea bed. Apparently further east near Wye in Kent there is an old quarry working where fossils hunters make finds. When I next walk on the Downs, I will certainly look more closely at the chalk beneath my feet!

What I vaguely recall in ca 1957 was being on a hill with my brother and yet there were small seashell fossils in the rocks ... and we were "high" above the fields below. Thanks, Clive

We live on the edge of town and to the west was a farm field. That's all changing apace as a new rec center and school will be built 800 m west of our house in that once-farmed field. We are not happy and 75% of town residents think the location is absurd. It is absurd. 80% of the town live across the highway and RR mainline tracks. Another story. They are connecting a new sewer line to an old sewer line to accommodate the new complex. They have opened a hole to make the sewer line connection. An open hole.

Another open flower - from a visit to a local lotus pond today - a windy day but caught this one in the transition from flower to seed pod. Tony
