I thought I would share this experience in case it may help someone else.
Using Elements 7, I had just finished editing/creating/saving a small batch of PSD image files; and then, I thought of something else I wanted to do to them.
So, in FastStone, I selected the group and hit the "E", which sends anything selected to the Elements Editor.
I performed my task and saved them back, writing over the previous state.
I also saved jpeg copies of each file.
It was then that I noticed one jpeg that did not have my new edit; I just thought maybe I had somehow missed it.
So, I went to the Editor to reopen a recently edited file = that particular file was not in the list = it sure should have been.
I went back to the PSD in FastStone, selected it, and hit "E" = the Editor appeared as it should, but no PSD showed up.
I tried this a few times with no success.
I then tried dragging/dropping and no go.
Did File > Open , navigated to the PSD and chose it to open = still no go.
I tried several other methods of opening the PSD --- that Elements itself had just created a little while earlier --- with no success.
How I finally got it to work = in FastStone, I renamed the PSD, simply adding xxx to the existing file name.
I selected it, hit "E", and it immediately opened in the Editor as it should.
I know this is a simple fix, but it worked when nothing else I was trying did.
I have no idea why that particular file decided to behave as it did.
