It has been a real privilege for me to be a part of the CE Challenge Team here for the past 4 years but I feel it’s time now to take a break so this will be my last tutorial for the Challenge.
I want to thank everyone who has taken part with me over these years. I have enjoyed it and I hope you have too.
I’m not leaving the forum though so you will still see me around. Just sayin’…
I got the idea for this after seeing a video by George Peirson of ‘How to Gurus’ (which ironically really doesn’t have anything to do with Cameos) but if you watch it Here you will hopefully see how I came to make the connection between what he does and my interpretation for a Cameo.
To obtain the white stroke around the top silhouette select it in the layers panel by holding down Ctrl/Cmd in a Mac and click on the thumbnail to get the marching ants of the selection then create a new layer and go to Edit>Stroke(Outline)Selection and choose white as the colour. Experiment with the size of the Stroke and click ok.
I used a stroke of 10 for this one of mine.
Doing it this way allows you to erase parts of the Stroke you don’t want to show in your final edit.
I usually choose a size of 12”x 12” for my document but feel free to choose whatever size suits you.
Once you have created your cameo also feel free to decorate the rest of your page as you please - or - not as the case may be.
Go to it and have fun in the process.
Note:
Png files are great for this and can save you cutting out from an image.
Silhouettes and Decorative Oval Frames can be found at HiClipart.com etc;
Font used - Rothenberg Decorative – obtainable free from either of the links below. But of course feel free to use whatever font you prefer.

I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage any of our members to please consider becoming a part of the CE Challenge team. I’m sure you will find it a rewarding experience.
I would invite anyone interested to contact Tpgettys and you can take it from there.
OK let’s get started with this Challenge. Enjoy and have fun with it.
The subject for the tutorial is ‘Cameos’.

I’m not giving a lot of instructions this time...
I’m sure you can see from my examples below, the page consists basically of a background, an oval shape and a frame on top of the oval shape.
Then place your image/s of choice on the oval shape and you have your cameo.
For my silhouettes page I used two black png files one overlapping the other.

Then I added two Summer Sunset Skies Overlays from Ashe Designs. A different one for each page and used the Overlay blend mode for each.
