A friend sent me this by email. It took me awhile to figure out how to best share it here. This is my dropbox link to the video. Some of them are really good. I hope you enjoy them.

Fantastic. TFS. Would be interesting to see some of our forum members give it a try. I'm wondering about the depth of field and getting everything in focus.

Thanks Helen. That's pretty cool. I'm wondering about the depth of field and getting everything in focus. Karen: my first thoughts as well. The default focal length of my El Cheapo Samsung phone is wide-angle. Therefore under good light the aperture would be small and DOF large. Like the old Brownie cameras... The downside is there has to be good light or else the auto ISO will kick up and/or shutter speed will be too slow and moving subjects blurred.

Very good points, Clive. If I remember correctly, it seems that the photos in the video were in bright light.

I am glad you are enjoying the video. I thought it was a fun share. It was very clever how he used the boardwalk to steady his phone. I would assume that the end results included combining the images in photoshop/PE.....or some other program that would allow him to create the composite. That is something for someone with more sophisticated skills than mine to figure out.

That is something for someone with more sophisticated skills than mine to figure out. That looks like fun. I assumed it wasn’t done as a composite. As phone cameras have such short focal lengths the depth of field is huge so it would be possible I think to create those images with a single shot if things were perfectly lined up. I do suspect though that they shot video and then picked out the best frame. Tony

I had thought that at first as well. However when I went back to look at it, it seemed to me that some of the people had been cut out and moved. When he was setting up this shot the girl at the bottom was not in the frame but off to the side. Not saying I'm right.....but just giving an example of what made me think they were composites. Also backgrounds are changed but that could be done with a phone ap I imagine.
