Hi everyone,

Microsoft has announced the release date for Windows 11.

Windows 11 will start to become available on October 5, 2021. On this day, the free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will start to become available for purchase.

If you have a Windows 10 PC that’s eligible for the upgrade, Windows Update will let you know when it’s available. You can also check to see if Windows 11 is ready for your device by going to Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

I installed Windows 11 this morning. A few operational and appearance changes. Explorer is a bit different looking.

Slight changes to operations, such as how to open docs in (say) MS Word from the taskbar. Just different and it will become second nature soon.

Speaking of the taskbar. My taskbar has been at the top of the screen for years. It is far more comfortable and "user friendly" that way...more in my line of sight than at the bottom. Well, the brainiacs at MS fixed the taskbar to the bottom in Win 11 with no internal way (Control Panel) to move it to the top. Seems a lot of people ain't happy about that. I downloaded a simple app called Taskbar11 (here) that installed in 10 seconds and it offers a simple menu to change taskbar position.

My Photoshop Elements works fine ... so far.
