Hi. I have cropped the original image & then selected the tick to confirm. I am sure the cropped imaged used to then insert itself within the viewing area but what im seeing is it off the screen. Have i removed a tick in one of the options by mistake ? Please see example & advise. Many thanks.

I am not at all familiar with later versions of Elements so this might not apply in your situation.
Whenever I want the image to fill the screen, I select the "Hand" tool and then click the option "Fit to Screen"

Forgot to mention Elements 12 I thought it would just fit to screen on its own ?

Have i removed a tick in one of the options by mistake ? Hi ipbr21054, I may be going on the wrong track here but . . . I have seen something similar to what you describe when "Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode" is turned on in the Preferences file (Edit>Preferences>General). If this is the case, just go to Window>Images> . . . select Consolidate All to Tabs.

Hi If you look at the status bar located at the bottom of the document, the left most section displays the current magnification. Your magnification is 100%. That means your displayed image is at full size. The section next to the magnification display gives more information and one choice is Document Dimensions. That will tell you if your crop went wrong. Hope that helps

I have cropped the original image & then selected the tick to confirm. I am sure the cropped imaged used to then insert itself within the viewing area but what im seeing is it off the screen. I’ve been trying to replicate what you describe, experimenting with a variety of image pixel dimensions and different crop widths and heights. I used different versions of Elements, including the version you have -- PSE 12. The results were consistent. The cropped image was always displayed in the center of the workspace (never in the corner). This is baffling! Would you please answer the questions below? Your answers will help with the direction of our troubleshooting. Thanks in advance! 1. Does this happen if you use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and do Image>Crop? 2. Does this happen with other images (different pixel dimensions, different crop widths/heights)? 3. Is the Ruler involved in your workflow? 4. When did this problem start?

I have a similar problem off and on and can't figure out why it happens, except it may be an Elements bug. An image I am working on will no longer appear on my screen as an edit-sized document; instead it will appear in the left hand top corner as a very small icon (just as pictured in this thread). I can get it back to full-sized but it is very annoying.

ipbr21054 and srmoment, The problem you are both encountering -- the image is displayed as very small and positioned in the upper left corner of the workspace -- is one of the problems created by a Windows 10 update (v1803, April 2018). michelb, an Adobe Community Professional, posted the link to a workaround which was suggested on the Adobe Photoshop Elements forum. Elements and the new Windows 10 (April - v 1803) updateipbr21054, You are in a different situation. You seem to be using Windows 7 and you have not turned on "Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode" in the Preferences file. But try this workaround anyway; it may help.
