This month the creator of our challenge image is being identified.
Using the suggestions that were offered in a previous post, Pat(srmoment) went back and took new pictures with the intent of creating a composite. When asked about submitting an image for the RAW challenge I originally thought that sharing both files used to create this image might prove a great learning experience for all of us.
However, after trying this I decided that it might be more frustrating than fun. As the challenge has always been about our creative vision rather than technical skills, this month we will be using an unedited tif. file that is the result of Pat skilfully merging the original two RAW files.
We think that this image should offer you many options for sharing your creativity!
1. After checking with the regular participants of this challenge, it was decided that including a screenshot of your edits in your RAW converter is no longer required. So I will leave it up to you if you would like to share them.
2. Following their initial edits members may use whatever “tools" they wish to create an image that portrays their artistic vision for the image
as long as the character of the original image is not lost.
3. Including information on plug-ins, actions, external editors, textures, sky replacements etc that were used will only help to inform members
of some of the creative options that are available to today’s photographer.
4. Including layer stacks may be something to consider when presenting a final edit.
You have until Thursday October 14th to submit your edits. At the end of the challenge the Pat will select her three favorite edits.
Comments are restricted to complimenting another member's edit.
This is a screenshot of the image that we will be working on:
The original tif. file can be downloaded here.
When you go to download the image you may see this. I ignored it and was able to download successfully.
