After owning and using this a while, I can see why people scour yard sales and EBay in search of the early originals. Mine is the early Leitz version, when Leitz had purchased Tilt-All but they were still made by the Marchioni brothers in the Marchioni factory. The early Leitz have an embossed metal tag that is riveted on; later Leitz have a stick-on decal. They call these "Model #4602" ; I don't know why as every one I have ever seen is a #4602. These have been produced and marketed under a dozen or more names and you can buy a brand-new one today. With a Tilt-All, you don't have to have a separate "head", as the head is a permanent part of the column; there is a 1/4-20 thumb-wheel that will screw into your camera. I mounted an Arca-Swiss style clamp on the Tilt-All head's camera plate and I have Arca-Swiss plates on all of our cameras and tripod heads. The Tilt-All "head" is very versatile and can be manipulated into almost any configuration imaginable; having the Tilt-All head underneath another style head makes for unlimited possibilities in camera orientation and also makes leveling and plumbing much easier. In these photos, I have my Yelangu A17 Gimbal mounted, with a Canon T3/1100D and Sigma DG 50-500mm f4.5-6.3 APO HSM Lens.
