After studying numerous pictures, I have determined that this is a Wolf Spider. I wish there had been something in the photo as a size reference; his leg span was easily as large as a pop can. Saturday_25-September-2021

What a lovely specimen, dangerous? It depends on what you fall over trying to get away and whatever you may land on when you fall. Scroll down to Wolf Spider: entomology.ca.uky.edu/spider-chart#wolf

Thanks; I wish I could have taken the time to rig up my close-up "Macro" gear and gotten his fine detail a lot better, but he would have been long gone before I could get ready. Usually, my hard-to-control instinct is to stomp first and ask questions later; but, I couldn't get my leg up high enough to stomp him where he was, so I grabbed the closest camera instead.

Well I had to look that up. Like Australia had to invent a scary creature. I know. I know. Us who are "from away" have a skewed understanding of your crocs and snakes. Drop bears .. has a nice ring to it. Clive
