You probably have images where you've taken multiple images of the same subject, and then can't decide which one to use.... I've included three shots of the same peacock in the same fog - can't decide if I like the vertical or horizontal better, and which one to use as my final image..... ......so I thought I would ask. Also, if you think of anything else that comes to mind to improve the photo, please do post.

I often take multiple pictures as well and then have a hard time picking my favorite. I think my preference here would be for the middle one. I like that he is more visible through the fog. I would consider cropping off the light metal piece at the top. Will be interested to see what others recommend.

I too prefer the second one out of those 3.
The fog on the left side of the landscape version is a way too distracting eye-magnet for my taste.
But even with the portrait versions, I would most probably crop out the top and bottom beams, which are also a bit distracting, which would then hopefully highlight the peacock as more of the subject in the image.
Basically, I think the landscape version with the left side cropped to the vertical beam/pole would work well for me.
Anyway, see what you think and thank you for sharing.

I just read in this announcement thread that in this forum we can download and edit images to help the person requesting help/advice. So this crop, everything else is untouched, is along the lines I am thinking.

From the novice.
I liked the first shot, and was going to suggest getting rid of some of the fog on the bird, so he would stand out more. Then I saw caspa's reply, and that was just what I meant. I think the fog is very effective in your pictures.

I'm backkkkk........ After having considered your very helpful comments, this is the final result. I ended up using the horizontal image, cropping out a lot of the fog. I used one of the recent posted sketch effects to help me isolate the geometric parts of the image, used the color picker to flatten those parts, added back in highlights and shadows. I then added Arkvis oil paint - palette knive to make the background look more like an oil effect. I then used On1 Develop to remove haze so the peacock would stand out more and then used layers to add the more detailed peacock back to the geometric/oil paint image. Final effects were to use layers to bring back some of the original photo, added a teeny bit of fog from Arkvis nature art to brighten the fog already in the image, and finally added On1's sunshine and hdr filter to brighten the image. This is the result: (thank you again for your feedback on this. I hope to see more members using this thread to construct their images, especially as all feedback is helpful!)

Yes, much better. I like what you did with the background especially, to make it more interesting The peacock also now definitely stands out much more as the subject.
