UNIVERSAL PHOTOGRAPHER REGULATION #257
A photographer is obligated to take photos of a mature milkweed seed pod no matter how advanced it is; no matter the conditions and no matter the circumstances. Non compliance will result in the case being reviewed by a tribunal of photography peers. If found guilty, the photographer will be banned from posting photos anywhere on the Internet for five (5) days.Just being a goof. It does seems as though we are obligated to do it. Milkweed seed pod with most of the seeds long gone. Oldman River Valley, October 7.

How often is one obligated to post such an image, I feel I have a lot of catching up to do...glad you caught this one before it disappeared completely.

Proof that any photo can be beautiful in the hands of the right photographer. The detail is amazing

They do make for some handsome pictures.....especially when captured against a beautifully blurred background as you do so well.

Thank you. I never noticed them when I was last there and now the huge pods are all opened, dried and the seeds dispersed. I cut the stem off (always carry a pocket knife) and shoved it into a bush and the background was partial shade and far away. The bokeh on this lens is quite good and at 600-mm and only ~6 feet away, the DOF is narrow. The other obligatory plant is goatsbeard ... not my photo. Clive
